Local Hair Color support
Support for the iPhone and iPad app.
Local Hair Color previews hair colors from one photo. Photo selection, hair segmentation, recoloring, mask correction, comparison, and export are performed locally on your device.
Get a clearer preview
- Choose a well-lit photo where the hair is visible and distinct from the background.
- Use a photo with one main person, limited motion blur, and no filter that changes the hair texture.
- Adjust intensity if the color effect feels stronger than the original lighting can support.
- Turn on Compare and drag the divider to check the preview against the same photo.
Correct the selected hair
Open Refine Mask when hair is missed or nearby skin, clothing, or background is included. Choose Add Hair or Remove Hair, select a brush size, and paint over the area. Undo steps individually or use Reset to Automatic to discard all manual corrections.
Purchases and restores
Use Restore Purchases on the access screen after reinstalling the app or changing devices. Make sure the device is signed into the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Purchases and restores can require an internet connection; normal photo editing does not.
The App Store shows the current localized price, billing period, and renewal terms before you confirm a purchase. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through Apple’s subscription settings.
Saving an edit
The app requests Add Photos access only when it needs to save a new result to your library. It never overwrites the source image. If saving fails, check the app’s Photos permission in Settings, confirm that the device has available storage, and try again.
Limitations
The preview is a visual planning tool, not a guarantee of salon or dye results. Fine flyaways, translucent hair, strong backlighting, hats, multiple people, and low-contrast backgrounds may need manual correction. Actual color also depends on the starting shade, hair condition, prior treatments, products, and technique.
